Ushtria e Romes u terhoq nga ishujt Britanike ne 410 pas Krishtit duke lene pas si trashegimi idene e monarkise, autoritetin e centralizuar dhe per qeverisjen lokale, qytetet('civitas'), si qendra te autoritetit per zonen rreth tyre.
Shume nga ish ushtaraket romake dhe nga ish punonjesit e administrates civile romake u natyralizuan dhe zgjodhen te jetojne ne Britani. Iliret Dioklecian, Maksimian, Konstantius, Galerius, Konstantini i Madh, ishin pjese e kastes ushtarake me te larte te perandorise dhe nepunesit qe caktoheshin prej tyre lane gjurme ne Britani edhe pas terheqjes se ushtrise. Ne vitin 600 pas krishtit u krijua mbreteria e pare e pavarur, pas pushtimit, ne Britani dhe Scone u caktua si qyteti ku do te kurorezohej monarku.
