Vëllai i presidentit afgan Hamid Karzai, Ahmed Vali Karzai, ka një bashkëpunim të ngushtë me CIA-n që prej 8 vitesh, raporton prestigjiozja “New York Times”.
Vëllai i kreut te Afganistanit bashkëpunon me inteligjencën amerikane për të rekrutuar persona të aftë për t’u vënë në shërbim te CIA-s në qytetin e Kandaharit, ndërkohë që ai vetë njihet si një prej trafikantëve më të mëdhenj të opiumit.
“New York Times” thekson se marrëveshja mes palëve është një tregues i qartë i politikës së ndjekur nga Shtëpia e Bardhë në Afganistan.
Kritikët theksojnë se këto lidhje kanë bërë që Shtetet e Bashkuara të mbyllin njërin sy për trafikun e opiumit, një nga burimet më të mëdha të financimit për talebanët.
Vetë Ahmed Vali Karzai hedh poshtë çdo marrëveshje të mundshme me CIA-n dhe thotë se, ai nuk është paguar asnjëherë nga inteligjenca amerikane.
