Natyrisht qe fustanella eshte nje veshje shqiptare dhe ska se si te jete greke, sepse greket jane nje race inegzistente deri ne momentin qe dikush u kujtua ta 'mbillte' ate ne Ballkan per interesa te kristianizmit.ALBPelasgian wrote:"...the foustanella, the famous Greek kilt, is said by many to be a version of
the Albanian warrior's costume, and is sometimes called the Albanian kilt...

"Moreover, you scorned our people, and compared the Albanese to sheep, and according to your custom think of us with insults. Nor have you shown yourself to have any knowledge of my race. Our elders were Epirotes, where this Pirro came from, whose force could scarcely support the Romans. This Pirro, who Taranto and many other places of Italy held back with armies. I do not have to speak for the Epiroti. They are very much stronger men than your Tarantini, a species of wet men who are born only to fish. If you want to say that Albania is part of Macedonia I would concede that a lot more of our ancestors were nobles who went as far as India under Alexander the Great and defeated all those peoples with incredible difficulty. From those men come these who you called sheep. But the nature of things is not changed. Why do your men run away in the faces of sheep?"
Letter from Skanderbeg to the Prince of Taranto ▬ Skanderbeg, October 31 1460

Re: FUSTANELLA
Our 'Fustanella' has been worn in every region of the Balkans where Albanians have lived, and every region has songs for it as well.

The Fustanella is a fold skirt, which is carried particularly in Albania and Greece(by Arvanites), traditionally by men, thus a man skirt. It can appear a short stiff skirt , usually pleated, made of white cotton or linen, and in the country of its origin Albania(or Epirus) we also find the long version. The foustanela was worn by the Albanian fighters of the 1821 revolution. It's been some time now, that the newly created nations, try to claim any Albanian heritage as their own. The following pictures/photos is in response to those false claims and show that this dress is exclusively originated from Albanian folks.

"Fustanella" (kind of a kilt), which used to be widely used all over West Balkan, in particular in Illyria and Epirus. There is also archeological evidence from an item found in Maribor, Slovenia in the 5th century BC, followed by the figure of a man on a grave stone of the 3d century in Smokthine (Mesaplik, Vlora), a terracot in the 4th century, found in Durres etc. Besides the "fustanelle", we may mention one of the oldest garments for women, which is a kind of suit with a long shirt, a long front and a similar back. In these regions, they also mention the Illyrian "dalmatika", which used to be a long shirt with sleeves, like the one worn by the master carved on a grave stone found in Drashovica, Vlora, dating in the 2nd century. Even on another gravestone of 2nd or 3d century, found in Korca, there are to smiths wearing "dalmatika". Another ancient Illyrian element is the plain local "opinga", (kind of mocassina). Besides, the unity of the common anthropological characteristics from the Illyrians to the Southern/North Albanians of nowadays, is an indicator to the bio-communicative continuity and a reason to use the anthropological data as historical source.
