E them kete, sepse formulat nje komb nje gjuhe jane te vlefshme vetem per kohet moderne. Persa ju perket ilireve, ka shume gjasa qe ata te mos ishin nje etni me nje gjuhe specifike te ndryshme nga te tjeret. Nese ata kane egzistuar vertete, gjasat jane qe te kene qene thjeshte nje elite sunduese theokratike, te ciles shqiptaret i mbijetuan, ashtu sic ju mbijetuan romaneve, otomaneve dhe gjithe perandorive fetare te shumellojshme.
Iliret jane nje term i dashur per ndergjegjen tone, ashtu sic jane helenet per greket, por ashtu sic keta te fundit, ngjasojne me shume me nje ideologji, me nje mit me legjenda epike dhe idealiste.
-Hyllus: the son of the Greek demigod Heracles, was claimed to be the earliest Illyrian king.
In Greek mythology, Hyllus[pronunciation?] (Greek: Ὕλλος; also Hyllas (Ὕλᾱς) was son of Heracles and Deianira,[1][2] husband of Iole, nursed by Abia.
Hyllus and his brothers invaded Peloponnesus, but after a year's stay were forced by a pestilence to quit. They withdrew to Thessaly, where Aegimius, the mythical ancestor of the Dorians, whom Heracles had assisted in war against the Lapidae, adopted Hyllus and made over to him a third part of his territory. After the death of Aegimius, his two sons, Pamphylus and Dymas, voluntarily submitted to Hyllus (who was, according to the Dorian tradition in Herodotus V. 72, really an Achaean), who thus became ruler of the Dorians, the three branches of that race being named after these three heroes. Being desirous of reconquering his paternal inheritance, Hyllus consulted the Delphic oracle, which told him to wait for "the third fruit," and then enter Peloponnesus by "a narrow passage by sea."
-Illyrius: ruled Illyria and became the eponymous ancestor of the Illyrians; son of Cadmus or Polyphemus.[8] Illyrius had six sons and three daughters whose names were associated with specific tribes:
Illyrius (Ancient Greek: Ἰλλυριός) is a name known in different stories found in ancient Greek mythology.
According to the Bibliotheca, Illyrius was the youngest son of Cadmus and Harmonia who eventually ruled Illyria and became the eponymous ancestor of the whole Illyrian people.[1] Illyrius was specifically born during an expedition against the Illyrians on the side of the Encheleans.[2]
According to the Illyrian Wars of Appian, Illyrius was the son of the Cyclops Polyphemus and his wife Galatea with siblings Celtus and Galas. The children of Polyphemus all migrated from Sicily and ruled over the peoples named after them, the Celts, the Illyrians, and the Galatians.[3] This particular genealogy was most likely composed by the ancient Greek founders of Epidamnus (Corinthians and Corcyrans) and preserved in Appian's work.[4]
Μost probably a derivation of Ἑλλοί or Σελλοί, the Greek inhabitants of the area around the sanctuary of Dodona (Δωδώνη), itself of pre-Greek origin.[1]
